The Aesthetic Movement of the late Victorian era reflected a fashion for delicate handmade sentimental jewelry pieces. Featuring scrolls, leaves, etched flowers, and sometimes written expressions of love, longing, distance or friendship, these pieces were often given as tokens to be worn during the day or evening.
