Toi et Moi rings (French for “You and Me”) are a romantic style of ring featuring two stones—typically of equal size—set side by side to symbolize two souls becoming one. The style originated in France in the 1700s, and became popular in the Napoleonic era. The most example was In 1796 when Napoleon Bonaparte gave Josephine de Beauharnais a sapphire and diamond Toi et Moi ring as an engagement gift. This historic ring is often credited with popularizing the style. In the Victorian & Edwardian (Belle Époque) Eras, the design saw a resurgence, often incorporating colored gemstones and ornate settings.
Sourced in France and curated by Paris-based Vivienne Birt for Chateau Love, this ring embodies the timeless sophistication and meticulous artistry that defines our carefully selected chateau-worthy collection of luxurious antique and vintage jewelry.
