An elegant antique French rose gold locket from the mid-1800s. Featuring a compartment deep enough to store either photos or tiny keepsakes, this locket features a lovely repoussé design of a Forget-Me-Not flower with a seed pearl in the center surrounded by repoussé arabesques typical of the era. The reverse side has been etched with minute quatrefoils. 
The Forget-Me-Not flower has been a meaningful symbol in jewelry for centuries, symbolising true love, devotion, and faithfulness.
Sold with a later unique rose-gold-plated chain from around 1900.
