A remarkable antique heraldic French bracelet depicting the 6 Celtic nations on seven panels. Six feature the coat-of-arms of each of the Celtic nations with their names in two languages, Breton and French, on each side: (KERNEW - CORNWALL, IWERZON - IRLANDE (IRELAND), BREIZ-BRETAGNE (BRITTANY), KOS-ECOSSE (SCOTLAND), KEMRE-GALLES (WALES), MANNA-MAN (ISLE OF MAN). The central panel has all six of the flags with the words, "SIX PAYS-UNE AME-C'HWEC'H BRO AND EUN ENE' on each side. This is the motto of the Celtic Nations in Breton and French, which translates to, "SIX COUNTRIES-ONE SOUL". The panels bear exquisite figures, such as, a harp, a lion, and ermine spots in beautiful enamelwork over rich yellow pinchbeck that has taken on the most wonderful antique patina.
A magnificent bracelet for all lovers of lore and legend.
