Chateau de Chaumont is one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles of the Loire Valley, with a noble history dating back to the 15th century. It is best known as being the chateau that Queen Catherine de Medici exchanged with her rival, Diane de Poitiers, for the Chateau de Chenonceau.
