This is a glowing antique French handmade enamel pendant of two calla lilies on a sky blue background by the Limoges enamellist G. Funck. The extraordinary three-dimensional image gives the impression of stained glass. Scrolled pinchbeck setting with a lovely patina. It is signed on the back. Truly one of a kind. Sold with original pinchbeck chain.
The calla lily’s name derives from the Greek word “calla”, which means beautiful. White calla lilies are also commonly used to represent new life, everlasting love, marital love, devotion, fertility, purity and rebirth.
