A very rare antique French brass and enamel cloisonné brooch featuring a regal bust of Joan of Arc in her armour. Fine royal blue and white enamelwork is set within an intricate setting resembling filigree.

Joan of Arc is the patron saint of France and a symbol of feminine strength and bravery. Dating back to the 12th century B.C., cloisonné is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects with enamel held in place or separated by metal strips or wire, normally of gold.
